Kidney Vetch (Anthyllis Vulneraria)

A variable, low growing perennial with silky hairs. The leaves have opposite pairs of narrow leaflets and a large terminal leaflet. The yellow flowers often grow in pairs. Variations of the flower colour can occur, with reddish-purple examples in some areas. Flowering from April until September it prefers rocky outcrops, sunny south facing cliffs, dry slopes and chalk downs.
