Salad Burnet (Sanguisorba Minor)

A low-growing perennial with greyish green compound leaves. The flowers grow in in compact, globular heads but there are no petals but the upper flowers in the head have red styles and the lower ones have yellow stamens. This plant flowers from May to September and suits grassland and chalk downs, always in sunny positions.
