Last week we had a very special visitor to Wild Wales Seeds. We were delighted to welcome the Deputy Minister and Chief Whip Jane Hutt MS to our beautiful poppy field. Although the weather left a lot to be desired, Jane was pleased to see such natural beauty on her doorstep.
We spoke at length about the story of Wild Wales Seeds and how it was formed. Jane was very sympathetic to the proposed industrial estate, planned for the site of our farm. She was eager to learn more about our story and gave us her full support which was very encouraging.
As a Welsh start-up business we are delighted to have the support of such a senior figure. She was very interested in learning about the other varieties of wildflower and grasses we offer. As a nature lover, Jane was keen to find out more about the varieties of seeds that attract pollinators and insects. We spoke about the biodiversity in the area and the varieties of butterfly’s, moths and insects we attract.
As welsh speakers, Rhys and Aled from Wild Wales Seeds were happy to hear Jane is learning welsh. Her passion and enthusiasm for seeing local Welsh businesses succeed was a great boost to the team. We look forward to having her back anytime and practicing Welsh with her.
