Self-Heal (Prunella Vulgaris)

This is a low growing perennial with creeping stems and deep blue-violet flowers. The heads are packed tightly together with purple bracts in between. With a flowering period between April and June, this wildflower is suited to a grassy habitat as well as gardens, roadsides, woodlands and neutral soils.
